ambitious. They still haven't convinced people to move on to Vista because its such a piece of shit and they're already building a new OS.

Maybe they will come out with a decent product and we can all leapfrog over Vista.

Windows 7 won't be out until 2010 so the first SP would be abut 2011. That would make XP 10 years old. That would be like someone now still using windows 98.

Thats what happened between 98 and XP. Windows ME was awful.

Well if there is nothing better.....Why move to a crappy OS. just because it is "NEW" with Vista pulling a ME they are either going to push something more lik longhorn out or keep up dating XP until they have a new OS to replace XP that does not suck.

I use Vista simply because I have the power for it, I was dual booting XP/Vista for about a year and finally just quit using XP.

XP runs faster
Vista looks prettier BUT when you have 3Gb of RAM multi tasking is FASTER in vista. The majority of things will run faster in XP but as a light work type workstation vista is better.

I've tried 64 bit on both XP and Vista and they BOTH suck so I'm sticking with only 3Gb RAM for now. Maybe next year I'll be able to upgrade to 8Gb RAM and go 64 bit but it just doesn't make sense to do that yet.

oh and I've seen 7 come through a few channels but haven't had the guts to try it yet
