    Thumbs linked to Join Page?

Ok, this might opening a can of works, but here goes:

Why has every site recently converted to having their tour thumbs link right to the join page rather than giving away full sized sample images?

One thought is 2257 but perhaps it is that the big players are tired of all the bandwidth costs and are sending the message that you need to sign you to see the goods?

I look forward to your thoughts on this as I am currently linking 3 out of 4 thumbs to full sized images with only 1 join link - am I wrong?

    Thanks!

That may be the solution against the tons of free content. I was an adult market surfer for many years. I never paid for a subscription because there is a lot of free content. That means lost money.

So many big sites seem to have switched to doing blind links recently on their tour pages. There must be a good reason. I would consider it but I was hoping for some advice here first. Thanks

people wank and not pay, i can beat off to any site i see without having to purchase all you have to do is put those short clips on repeat, the amount of content is outrageous. I wouldnt be surprised it the blind linking actually increased sales revenues because the people want to get off and now know they have to at least sign up for a trial

I will use our site as an example:

              http://www.amateurcanada.com/cgi-bin...eepreviews.cgi

Alot of interactivity, voting and people clicking away to see all our models - but we've noticed a slight decline in the sales coming from said previews. There is alot for free! A simple video of the model and a writeup with the preview is just as effective. If they want to click around and see things for free - they are free users not paying ones.

Consider TGP traffic, do you want a person who clicks around thehun or other free tgps and hit your site to just download everythign and take off? Or do your best by asking for the sale 100 time s:D

              Hope this helps!~

It's all about teasing the surfer. A free video trailer or pic on the tour will either make it or break it as far as signups go. Pay attention to your stats, where are all the signups coming from? You'd be surprised as to how many come from those free video pages.
Take into consideration all the surfers who bookmark the paysite and then join at a later date. What makes them bookmark that page?

But if you put up a crappy video or crappy pic, it'll have the adverse effect -> Crappy ratios.

+ I also prefer sending my traffic to a paysite who minimizes the blind link bs. Especially if I'm on revshare. For example: Twistys. No tricky stuff on the tour page + no tricky stuff inside the members area = trust = higher retentions = more money in your pocket.

There are exceptions to every rule, but in general, it's a good rule of thumb.

Don't take my word for it. Test, test, test and test some more.
