Jensen, I agree with you, these people are pretty difficult to find. However they do exist! We currently have an 'all rounder' in the office who is able to do both.

The best way to go is to have a designer with lots of interest for php/programming and to offer this person schooling + a project on the side where he/she can develop his/her skills.

So basicly it will take quite some effort but in the end you will get a lot back

I know a lot of skilled coders that THINK they can design, but heck no!

one funny thing though, from my own personal experience these coding people seemes to love squared designs and borders is a must.. anyone know what I'm talking about?
