of course it does, especially when it is left uncorked, you lose all the aromas and flavours of the wine!

yes.. depends on teh cork or how young the wine was when bottled. sometimes extra fermantation occurs in the bottle causing it to taste carbonated. Or, sometimes the cork starts to rot causing it to taste metalic and somewhat like a plum. Or, sometimes the cork has an imperfection in it. you can tell this by one of two way, feel teh top of the cork before opening it. if its raised some, the bottle is no good. The second way is a tad two late but if you see any wine on teh side of teh cork its bad, or if the cork has a deep red or black bottom. Also, only buy a bottle thats laying down or tilted. The cork needs to remain wet.
Once its in teh glass, say a few ounces, tilt the glass some near a light. If the wine has a yellowish hue in the miniscus the wine is bad or very close.
It all depends on personal taste though. I prefer a brunello circa 1997

Yes it does. Also its not good to keep wine more than like 20 years, so if you have any wine that is unopened and more than 20 years old I will take it off your hands free of charge.

Of course wine goes bad, especially if it's been opened. Once the air gets to the wine, it becomes oxidized if it's not consumed right away - especially reds. If you can't drink a whole bottle at once you can buy a pump that will pump all of the air out of your wine so you can recork it and reduce the risk of oxidation. You still can't leave it for more than a few days even under those circumstances.

the older the wine, the better the taste. but this rule does not apply to uncorked wines.

wine is one of the most popular aphrodisiacs in the world, and it works just fine..

Yeh, if you uncork it and let it sit on the table for a long time , you might as well finish it off within a short time thereafter.

oh of course it can go bad. A warm room can easily damage its quality. That's why its best to keep it in a cool cellar

Wrong. A lot of bullshit is being posted in this thread.

My parents were collectors of wines. Most wine sorts are not made to be kept for more than about 10 years or so. And these are probably wines you cannot afford to drink anyway.

Regular wines will go bad after a few years. The reason for this is that the alcohol eventually turns back into sugar. If it tastes funny or smells bad, it's bad. Worst case that can happen is that you get some serious diarea for a day or two. But unless you are a total newb you will notice the difference with a regular wine, and wine that's no good.

It is very difficult to keep a wine for like 20 years, under most circumstances it will turn out to be crap. That's why good old wines are so expensive, they are very rare.

Most of the time it will be crap and bad for your stomach even it's wine that is ment to be kept that long. What kind of wine is it, where is it from?
