This is the truth, I won't say where or what year other than it was pre 70's
Our Geography teacher had us study ww2. We, the kids in my block were really reeally good at making gas/leafpile bombs. You take a pile of leaves, hose it down with gas and add another and another and another layer until all your leaves where used up and made a big pile. Let it set overnight then the next day, set out our lawnchairs and dared one of us to run up and pour on more gas. (yes it went off once just doing this.) and run a little trail bak to our chairs.

Once this was done, we'd play cards to see who got to light the trail. The lucky person got to toss a wood match and poof, the fire was off racing to the pile. and when it got there.
KAPLOOOOOOEY! It was like a nuke it was so cool. It actually imploded first before depositing leaves ALL over the yard. We always had a hose handy but it was just a flash explosion. It was so big and hot though, the grownups would come watch too sometimes. We were maybe 12.

ANYWAYS......... the geography teacher knew we were good at making things blow up and assigned us to show how flame throwers and such were used on the Japanese in WW2. She, allowed us to construct a wood and cardboard series of tunnels and a fort and let us make molatav cocktail bombs and let us SHOOT our pellet guns at unbroken bottles that didnt break on contact.

The class was mortified. (the girls at least.) We were kings for a day. I think back to that and what would happen if we did this today in school. I doubt we'd see the light of day ever again if performed in the fine year of 2008.

BTW... did you ever consider that a wall to keep illegals OUT. will also work to keep us IN. If that day ever comes. Always look at the big picture.

..... thats all. Just thought I'd share this little bit of schooling of mine.
