the whole point was that the stories were supposed to be sub-par, the acting crap, the effects cheesy, and the violence high and frequent. if you watched either of them expected an oscar performance you're an idiot. they were exactly what they were meant to be, and if you can't appreciate them for it, go rent 7 years in tibet or something. death proof got off to an extremely slow start, but the pay off was great. senselessly and unrealistic vehicular violence with a very thin plot, which ended in a fantastic chase scene. lots of blood, speed, crashing, exploding, flipping, and death. it was a perfect hommage to grindhouse features of the past, and the cinematography was great...
