    WOODSTOCK, Ill. - Mike Jones appeared in circuit court Thursday to face five felony counts of possession of child pornography and nine misdemeanor counts of obscenity.

    The owner of adult content wholesaler L&M Enterprises and its Website CDbabes.com, Jones was indicted by a county grand jury and arrested June 26 after a yearlong investigation and a five-hour raid by police last fall. He is free on a $50,000 bond.

    Thursday?s hearing was a formality under Illinois law, where Jones was formally confronted with the charges and had the option of entering a plea.

    Jones? attorney, J.D. Obenberger, declined to enter a plea and demanded prosecutors produce the images Jones? is accused of possessing. Police say the photos show women with rattraps and clothespins on their bodies.

    If convicted, Jones could be sentenced to up to five years in prison. He is due back in court Aug. 16.

                          the TRUTH is that a "doctor" viewed his site and said some of the girls could no way in hell be over the age of seventeen(ie 18+).

                          they didnt even look at the license agreements or model releases, etc... they just locked him up. they took his house, his money, and his car. i hope thing get ironed out soon. since he is dealing with the state, he is royally fucked. he cant countersue and im sure he's lost tons of money as well as his name

                          as far as the S&M he is guilty. but, im not sure if thats illegal...

                                      The problem with child pornography is that it's very easy to be "guilty," since mere possession is a felony. "Possession" can mean it's in your cache or deleted files. In other words, you could just stumble on some and immediately get rid of it as far as the visible part of your machine, but it could still be there somewhere in the godawful recesses of your computer.

                                      This country is getting pretty scary.

                                      In Vegas, one of the attorneys in the legal seminar said some Fed prosecutors want to be able to prosecute people for being in possession of pictures of legal-age models who someone might imagine being underage. We are now talking about putting people in prison for what other people might imagine, folks!

                                      As if we don't have too many people in "The Land of the Free" already.

                                              If the electoral college was abolished I would have been elected. And I am sure you know that Al Gore would not have targeted innocent pornographers for prosecution.

                                                          Bone, Candid, and Rose, don't let yourself get confused by non-sense. All of these prosecutions are happening at state level not fed. Also, its a long standing tradition with lawyers to try to scare adult webmasters in these seminars.
                                                          4 years ago they were saying the same thing. They are just looking for retainer fees.

                                                          There are hundreds of content providers, ask yourself what happened that got this one guy arrested and go from there.
