It has nothing to do with the US government. Hentai is not allowed to show penises or penetration (In Japan, which is where Hentai comes from) - therefore tentacles and censorship are the rule of the day.

H-Manga on the other hand, is an entirely different thing.

Oh, also - female genitals are bad as well, so you won't see them in real hentai either. ;>

hentai in Japan doesn't have to be censored anymore, there are a lot of hentai DVD's that have nice uncensored hentai. Most of the paysites' hentai is old censored hentai.

It just seems sort of ridiculous, day after day, to see this nice wonderful artwork censored with pussies and penetrations blurred or blended out like that. Stupid, really, I mean what are we, kids? I have tried to refrain myself from posting to this message, but well here goes.

Erotic art work has been around since the cave man, they drew pictures of naked women on the cave walls. It was the first form of pornography.

Later in our evolution, man discovered photography, and therefor art was left behind, due to it's cost to purchase a wonderful work of art.

Today we see more and more artists posting their work on the internet, and it's wonderful. The reason why the images are sensored, and I really do agree with Soul_Rebel on this is to get more signups cause if you take a good look at the artist community you will not find images sensored. Ranging from softcore to hardcore, alien sex to beastiality.

I can honestly say that I have seen it all in these categories, of erotic art.

Erotic art is becoming very popular, especially with he asian community, so take a hint from me, go erotic art all the way.

ExclusiveContent has had some good work added to their catalog this year, so it's not all bad. The problem is production time.
If you people are looking for anime that appears to be taken directly from a feature then that content is difficult to produce, to say the least. The last time I did any work like that I believe it required as many as 10 hours per image from pencils to final coloring (most of that time is spent in front of the monitor, layering in levels of shading).

I have a traditional painting and drawing education, halfway to my BFA if I can ever afford to go back to school (I'm also halfway to a journalism degree but I'll save that for a future thread <grin>), and much more apprenticeship under some very skilled animators so I have seen the rigors of the artform. Not many artists want to deal with the stress of meeting orders with that kind of work involved.

And I don't think many webmasters would be willing to pay for it. I would imagine a set of 15 high quality, non-exclusive images could run as much as US$100. If anyone knows 10+ webmasters willing to shell out that much cash for every set then I would stop building free sites and go back to the drawing board and Wacom tablet.

I really don't think people are THAT hungry for high quality anime, but I could be wrong.

Actually, your work is in a class by itself girl, you are well-known as a world-class talent.

The few artists that I know of can produce a single cartoon image in 10-15 minutes, and it will be better quality that the hentai stuff I've seen lately. I'm going to see if any will sell me their sets of 50 for $2 per ($2X50=$100). I'll do all the scanning and digital editing (if needed), and then....THEN we'll see if there are any takers. I'm thinking of offering these guy's work in the traditional hentai style of work, but also in the "marvel comics" style too. Would any webmasters buy content that has original superheros and super-babes fucking each other and screwing their arch-enemies? My ex brother-in-law can produce this kind of work in his sleep --- why he isn't as rich as Stan Lee I'll never know.

Also, as far as the censoring, I believe it was already stated, but just to reiterate, it is voluntarily censored by the artist to conform to old japanese obsenity laws, and that's how you can tell authentic hentai from the stuff that is running around these days.
