    So I got a puppy.....her name is Zango.

    I was driving the other day and some guy pull over and toss this puppy out. So I picked her up and came home, she's a great dog but the whole potty training is kinda hard. Does anyone have any tips for me? I grew up with dog's but my mom was the one to train them so I never have done this myself before. She's part Boxer and Great Pyrenees, she has 6 toes on her back legs and I thought that was strange so I took her to the vet and she said Great Pyrenees have 6 toes. The vet said she was going to be huge about 80 - 100 pounds.

          Get one one of dog carrier things. Make them sleep it in at night, letting them out right before you put the dog in for sleep, and then right away in the morning. We only had a few accidents with our lab doing that.

          Put in a small blanket and small toy in there and it will help

                      you rock TurboAngel. I wish there were more people like you.

                      also, take the dog out to make after she takes an extended nap...most of the time puppies have to pee after they nap for 90mins +

                      also take her out to make after she eats. You can train teh dog to make by getting her in the routine of taking her out 20 mins after she eats and digests the food. I would imagine this dog will make #2 2 to 3 times a day as a puppy and probably 2X a day when matured.

                      hope that helps with the house breaking.... and should she have an accident, just tell her BAD GIRL in a deep tone voice and make her feel bad. When she makes outside, reward her with petting, GOOD GIRL in a happy voice and attention....she will eventually learn the way it has to be : )

                                                              My dog was also found on the highway, with a broken toe (that had already healed) didn't respond to anything, was scared of everything, and is apparently one of a handful of Viszla's that has a full tail.. I'm guessing maybe it was part of a hunting pack and got away, or was thrown out like yours.

                                                              He's been a great dog, 7 or so now I think.

                                                              So did you name it Zango because you know it's going to leave you a pile of shit, whether you like it or not?

                                                                  My wife litter box trained a chihuahua, a cainr terrier and a boston. Every 20 min they went to the litter box and remained there until they did something 1 or 2. When they did their thing she praised them like they had just saved a small child from a burning building and gave them a treat. They spent the night crated.

                                                                  Now they all sleep outside the crates and we have zero issues with poop or piss in the wrong place.

                                                                                                              I have 2 big dogs and kennel training is the way to go. That and lots of trips outside.
