LOl I saw that.
Yeah, that's BRILLIANT isn't it? Some people should just be shot.
Shoot them and then turn the gun on yourself.
What are you crying about? Aren't you the one that asks mods to ban people just because they call you names like "ass cancer" while you run around calling people all sorts of shit?
Take out your "fancy" gun, put it in your mouth and pull the trigger. You know you will eventually - so just do it now.
A punk rocker in metal is a style statment that would likely cause no problems in an Applebees, but in a different situation, say Lutece in NYC, it would. Your shirt, however, contains a word which could potentially get a child kicked out of school for using, could provoke a legal physical retaliation, and is generally considered inappropriate language in a family setting. I have no problem with your shirt, but I also don't take my kids to bars. People choose certain establishments that are considered family friendly, well, because they are family friendly.
Put it this way, if you wore your shirt to a church, as someone pointed out below, what would you expect the reaction to be? Similarly, if you wore it to your local bar, you would expect no official reaction. If I wear my favorite shorts to Lutece in NYC, I am not getting in. If I mow my lawn naked, I will probably be arrested. Now, I am not offended by the word "fuck" on a tshirt (hey, I used to blast the Stones "Fuck a Star" just to piss of my parents), shorts at Lutece, or mowing the lawn naked. Unfortunately, I don't live in my own self created world. It is all about judgement, man, and respecting others and understanding you live amongst other people, not just your own bubble.
People distort the concept of free speech and think it includes their right to be an asshole. It actually protects political speech and has been applied to a more limited extent in other areas. The SC also ruled in the sixties that some words are valid reasons for fighting, and fuck is one of them. The Stones "Fuck a Star" created a political firestorm. Thankfully, we have come a long way since then, but that does not mean we should throw common sense out the window.

Write a BOOK next time why dont you.
You're dead wrong btw. The original "fighting words" decision was made in the 40's and steadily pruned sionce the late 60's.
The court has continued to uphold the doctrine but also steadily narrowed the grounds on which fighting words are held to apply. In Street v. New York (1969), which the court overturned a statute prohibiting flag-burning & verbally abusing the flag, holding that mere offensiveness does not qualify as "fighting words" and that the threat of actual violence must be present. Similarly, in Cohen v. California (1971), the fact that Cohen had been arrested for wearing a jacket that said "fuck the draft" did not constitute uttering fighting words since there had been no "personally abusive epithets."
In R.A.V. v. City of St. Paul (1992), the court overturned a statute prohibiting cross-burning on the grounds that governments could not prohibit speech based on its content or subjects addressed. The court went on to assign some free-speech value to fighting words (although the court ruled that cross burning was not fighting words):
“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
The point is that you are completely ignorant of the concept and history of the "fighting words" doctrine, so stop spouting it.
The two points below own you. You should read them.
In more recent decisions, the court has held that fighting words must "reasonably incite the average person to retaliate" and risk "an immediate breach of the peace" or they could not be prohibited.
...holding that mere offensiveness does not qualify as "fighting words" and that the threat of actual violence must be present.
You need some help with your reading comprehension skills
LOL you are one that brought it up. You said "The SC also ruled in the sixties that some words are valid reasons for fighting, and fuck is one of them."
I'm telling you you are WRONG. Both about the dates and the concept of inhibiting free speech based on the "fighting words" doctrine.
One more time:
To inhibit free speech: "fighting words must reasonably incite the average person to retaliate and risk an immediate breach of the peace". "Mere offensiveness does not qualify as fighting words and that the threat of actual violence must be present."
If they aren't "fighting words" then they are protected speech.
What part of that are you not understanding? It cracks me up when a pornographer is clueless on 1st amendment issues.
So Whitey, if you follow your argument to its logical conclusion; I can tie a flag to a cross and burn the fucker as long as I'm not wearing a GFY shirt while I do it.
Applebees is a family restaurant. You wouldn't think of wearing it into a school (i hope), why would a restaurant like Applebees be any different? Wear it to conventions, bars, parties, whatever, but use some common sense when wearing an offensive shirt into a restaurant in which children may be present.

Who has their kids in a bar and grill at 11:30 at night?

i have to agree to a point , but its just words.. i am far more offended by fat people in spandex than words on a shirt. And i would much rather my child see GOFUCKYOURSELF on the back of a shirt than fat folds from the fatty in front of me

applebees has a bar doesnt it? theres a difference in wearing a shirt with the word "fuck" that only your server can see and some drunk college kid yelling it when his team loses the football game yet i see these people there all the time.

LO FUCKING L
You can burn a cross. Just not at Applebees. I know you get it. Why be stubborn?
Freedom of Speech... it's obvious many of you don't understand that. If you come to my house you do NOT have the freedom to say whatever you want. My house is my castle. I make the rules. If you say something I don't like... you're gone.
Likewise, Applebee's makes the rules for their establishment. If they don't like something you say/wear/do, etc... they have the right to refuse service. To anyone.
Why is this hard to comprehend? I have a feeling it's not. I think stubborn male ego is getting in the way of saying, "Yeah you're right. Thanks for pointing that out."
I can see Jim in court right now explaining to the judge....."ahhhh, yes your honor. I went to Applebees ( a family restaurant ) and they wouldn't seat me because I had a shirt on that said GO FUCK YOURSELF."
Ahh yet another unintelligent porno pusher crying. Ban me for what exactly, for using common sense and logic? It's no wonder most of you live on the computers.. Thanks for your kind words champ.

I am sorry, were you trying to insult me?
What exactly is a "porno pusher" and why are you jealous of me/them/us?
I am always entertained by surfers who do not have a clue. Please say something else to make me laugh.
I once went to a restaurant where the manager came to me and said I had to leave because of my G.F.Y. hat. I asked him just what he thought it stood for??!?! And he said, "Go Fuck Yourself!" and I gasped and looked at him in horror and then at my girlfriend and my 2 guests and then back at him and told him I am a religeous man and he'd better appologize. My hat stands for GOD FAIRING YOUTH! It is a registered trademark of the youth group I help run at my church!
He was like.... OOOOoooooooops! And comped our meal. Not bad, saved us $250 or so with the tip...
personally id never wear any of my gfy gear outside (unless i remained in my car like at a drive thru atm or something). the last thing i want to do is promote gfy to surfers.

If the shirt is worn in public, it will draw attention... which is why most would probably want to wear it...
To wear it where there is a pontential for families to frequent, then it 'should' be a no-brainer...
A few years ago a young gal bought a t-shirt at an annual town fair type event.. It had 'God of Fuck' on it.. She was taken to her home to change, so she put on a Charles Manson shirt.. Not a problem apparently.. It got all legal somehow and the ACLU and several others became involved.. It made the heavy news channels.. I think it all finally just faded away...
