Last time I checked that means he LOST. The loser gets ZERO electoral votes. It doesn't mater how close he is. Also you'd think with all the anger over the 2000 election Kerry would have WON Florida not lose by 300,000 votes.

Seeing as how the Republican nominee is unlikely to be as far right as Bush, this creates the likelihood that a ticket with Obama on it is enough to close the 5% gap since he cancels out a some of Hillary's polarizing effect. And don't forget that Bill Clinton took Florida in 1996.

Clinton took Florida because there was a 3rd party candidate running that took votes from Dole. Dole lost by 6.7% and Perot got 9.12%
Florida has a republican governor. The state legislator is run by republicans most of the representatives in Congress are republican as well as 1 of their 2 Senators.
