I have a great tool for testing the performance of CDN!

For those of you who have heard all the buzz about CDN and would like to see how it actually performs against your own Hosting group, I have got something for you to try.

    Check out www.testyourhost.com

I may be a bit biased...yep, we built it...but this tool is pretty freakin slick. I have been playing with this thing for a week now!

All you do is load your file into our web based tool, and we send it out to Level 3's CDN network. We test on a total of 25 nodes placed throughout the world...see the index page map. When the test is done, we email notify you that your results are ready. It usually only takes a few minutes, but it could take a bit longer if you have a larger file size.

You get real results, and a nice view of how your Host's performance compares to CDN. We provide granular performance returns for each node, each region and an overall return for the entire network.

With the pricing on CDN coming down, we think this is a cost-effective and high-performance option for faster delivery of content. What is so great about faster delivery....

    1) It's easier -- when your site is faster it's easier to navigate and encourages customers to view, browse -- and oh yah...BUY and RETURN TO BUY!!!

    2) It means longer stays -- when your customers are navigating your tour or your members area, they stick around longer, and might just take advantage of that X-sell or upsell opportunity.

    3) It is more reliable - Our CDN providers use thousands of servers all over the world to deliver your content, allowing for increased availability and reliability...thus reducing your lost revenue due to outages.

    4) It helps with retention - as more content gets pushed online, performance will be more critical to your customers, and they may just look elsewhere if your website and content is lagging. CDN is a great insurance policy for keeping your end-users happy and coming back to your website and your brand.

We will have our Cavecreek and CCBill Team at Internext Las Vegas in full force starting on Sunday. If you would like to talk CDN, pricing or get a demo of Test Your Host at the show, please just pull one of us aside and we will make it happen.

It is working for other people? Did you post a wmv file type file that is greater than 2mb. You also have to activate the account first from your email?

The server at www.testyourhost.com is taking too long to respond.

Anybody knows a similar system? (free or paid, I don't care)
