Adorable.com. Help me decide what to develop into. PLEASE!

I've decided to develop one of my domains, Adorable.com but I'm undecided as to what exactly I should do. I'll need to throw some advertising bucks at it no matter what, but I could use some help as far as what people might want to see on there.

I'm thinking...
1. Adorable pets. Place where people could upload and share pictures of adorable pets. Already kinda started (http://www.adorable.com/pl).
2. Auction place for animals, dogs, cats, birds, etc.
3. Dating site, though I don't think guys would put their info up on a domain like "adorable".
4. ??

Let me know what you think it should be used for. I'd prefer no porn, and I know this community has many webmasters doing mainstream as well.

Feedback is appreciated. Also, if you are interested in buying the domain the current bid is $16k.

Actually, don't limit yourself here - expand that to pets as well as children -- like a rate my cute...thing type site...

I'd try to find a teddybear reselling program. Maybe make a deal with the people from buildabear - maybe they'll drop ship something for you. But loads of things can be 'adorable' so you can certainly do alot with it in terms of reselling.

**On a sidenote - Someone from the industry heard it was my daughter's birthday and surprised all of us when it got here. My daughter's face was PRICELESS when she heard it wishing her HappyBirthday and had blonde hair like her .... Well it's a damn good concept. Again, Sir, thank-you cuz she holds that teddybear dearly when she falls asleep at night **

Actually, a baby blog/ baby announcement site is brilliant.

Include announcement email e-cards, myspace style postings, rate my baby, mugs/tshirts prints with cafepress, etc.

I'm thinking about teens, or the pet thing could work. Perhaps you would make more money with teens, however if there isn't such a rate my pet site it's worth to consider that option as well. You would have to build a portal site for pets in order to make money from it.

Definitely go mainstream with that URL, man. It would be a waste if you turned it into a generic teen paysite, IMO. That is my best advice. I personally would go with a baby/toddler/little kid pic post. People love to show off and if you give them each a dedicated page, you'll get tons of free viral marketing from everyone sending the URL to their entire address book. Also, IMO, it's worth way more than $16K.

anyone know any other script? this one runs around $400.

Just think about how the word, "adorable" is used the most in the work-a-day world and go in that direction..

Already mentioned, but babies and pets are two of the largest groups where the word is widely used..

That is adorable.. she/he is adorable... there's your direction..

Banner ads should work well for you. Just find some good sites frequented by women 25+ and you will have no problems. Actually 30 to 40 is your sweet spot though.

I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

you guys are the bomb. i already got the blog setup. will have my guys start working on the site design and something should be whipped up by mid next week.

I would think this thing out by myself and have it custom made. There are enough blogs, a portal site would be something new, well not new but more renewing than a blog.
Person can log in, create his own page with his pet pictures, other people can comment on the pictures, give it a rating, be able to bookmark his favorite pet pages, get a forum, pet chat etc...
When you have traffic they will fight for advertisement space. If the custom scripting cost 1 to 1.5k it will pay itself back.

A portal site for parents on raising their children. Show them how adorable their kids are and they'll be happy to spend money on the ones they love the most. Sell clothes and stuff that they think would be cute on their kids. Could work if you add pets too.
