They gave similar "drives" away at an MCSE event not long back. They were 32 MB, loaded with MS documentation and read only. Don't get your hopes up.

We don't know exactly how big it is or if it's read only or not. But it's free, so you can roll the dice and see if it sucks or if it's cool for a freebie.

it comes pre-loaded with information, not sure if its read-only though. shipping is 6-8 weeks.

What a brilliant way for Microsoft to match computer UINs with bootleged copies of XP

(hence the confirmation email ...)

You guys heard of NYPD sending out complimentary baseball tickets to people with outstanding warrants, and then rounding them up as they enter the staduim, right?

You can't determine if person is running a legit version of windows from a web browser. I guess, unless they put some shady code into IE, but with firefox it should be impossible to determine if windows version is legit. But what serious webmaster would run their business using stolen software anyway?
