    Strange Virus on my Laptop

I was downloading some movies off of limewire. I double clicked on one and media player said that the extension and the filetype wasn't the same but it would try and play it if I wanted it to. Well, I said yes and boom! Basically, it has rendered all media players useless. I ran bit defender and it found the virus but couldn't clean it...not even in safe mode. It tells me that the NT kernel has been changed. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. Thanks!

Download a trial of NOD32. If that don't clean it off, then it's format time.

If there is a virus out there to be had, I'll find it. The last one rendered my DVD/CD drive useless.

Even thepiratebay is safer to download from than Limewire. Just check the comments before you start to download something. :P

Well if you are not using Windows to play video games the switch over to linux/gui and you will not have the same issues...
