Obviously, Alien's post was not a direct threat but way, way out of line. Read his entire post, it was damn insulting and without reason. If he was pissed Headless was banned he should have kept his rant at least moderately professional. He had it coming.Comment

That was pretty fucked up.

The dirt is that TexasDreams has banned people who continuously break the rules in one way or another. Some webmasters love to break the rules around here. Everytime someone asks me for a bump or to post in their threads...it's pretty much the same imho. I don't think Lensman or MOST people even wouldn't want the extra traffic. That's part of what makes the advertising on GFY what it's worth.
For the record, I don't think headless should have been banned. Get rid of the surfers first, then talk to me about banning legitimate industry people.
Note-That isn't meant to be a slam on TexasDreams either. I wouldn't want the thankless job, but I think in THIS given situation, he did overreact.Comment

Interestingly enough, if you do a search on them, you find a lot of threads about them scamming people in the past, but those weren't deleted. And we even had newbreed saying he'd tried to work with them but they were clueless and manofwar saying they'd scammed him, in the thread. The other day Headless found out his radio show was listed on Tivo. He wanted to share his excitement with the 600 people on his ICQ list that he added over the past 8 years. He sent a mass message with a link to a GFY thread that he started to everyone on his list. There's a known glitch with ICQ mass messaging that sends multiple copies of the same message and/or doesn't deliver them at all.
Apparently, someone started a thread complaining about Headless spamming them with a GFY thread etc etc. Totally taken out of context... he wasn't "spamming", he was basically sending a message to everyone in his list. Big deal, right?
Anyway, TexasDreams didn't approve of him using GFY as a press release staple and banned Headless' radio show URL from GFY. Headless tried to message TexasDreams to ask him why etc and he was ignored, so he started 2 or 3 threads asking what the hell happened. It escalated from there, resulting in Headless being banned.
All in all, it was a very simple and harmless action that got taken way out of context. I think it was all a misunderstanding and I hope Headless is unbanned.
TexasDreams was just doing what he thought was right and Headless did what he thought was right and justified. Maybe everybody can kiss and make up?
