Dedicated Hosting - Phatservers or Natnet?

Time to open a dedicated server. What would you recommend

1. http://phatservers.com/hosting_plans...ted/index.html
(the $150/month - PS-Dedicated 1)

2. http://www.nationalnet.com/specials.php
(the $199/month - 5 MBPS SPECIAL)

I don't use much bandwidth. I'm opening a dedicated because I want something faster that the shared hosting I'm currently using.

They are both good hosts, and I have had accounts with both of them.

Phatservers gives me warm fuzzies though, and that is where I currently have all my stuff.

Out of those 2 I would say phat, however there are other hosts that have better deals going on.

I'm a fan of both. I'd try to get each to give you quotes and then have the other price match or beat those quotes.

moving from Phatservers to NatNet. Nat's 5Mbs Special makes prices look almost the same while NatNet is the Next level host. the only thing I don't like about them - they do not offer ControlPanel.

You are correct - we do not offer control panels, BUT - that is only because we do ALL of that work for our customers. In other words, we actually become our customer's system adminstrators...almost as if we were employees of yours.

I have a server at Natnet and am more than delighted with it. The response time to tickets submitted for jobs averages at less than 4 minutes, which is something Ive never encountered before, even when trying to use phones (usually answerphones) or icq.

Ive no doubt Phatservers are good too, but I wanted to say how impressed I am with Natnet.

i love phatservers, there's a personal touch there too. and all my support tickets are answered lightning fast.. havent had any downtime with them either... class act over there

I'm thinking of ordering some of those 5mbps specials from natnet. Phatservers is great too but more expensive for sure.
