    VOD Sales, Is this Good?

    I've had some clients testing VOD sales recently and they are making considerably less then other programs, although people have been telling me that the long term advantages out weight the short term ones.

    For exampe, with AEBN...

    Jan 1st to 5th approx.
    Members = 1,600
    Revenues = $330

    I'm having difficulty understanding what this will mean in 6 months of promotion, but in terms of comparing to other programs, I'm about 3x less then norm for these 5 days. What should I expect in 6 months?

    Not sure what you mean by 1,500 members = $350 revenue.

      I guess AEBN's stats report free member signups.

          So you've sent 400 sales/day to them?

            I don't know much about VOD but I am pretty sure you should atleast give it a month before judging, since the members pay per minute or per video right?

              If they are reporting free signups, then that's the reason.

              We don't track the free signups (which get 10 mins free) on our new VOD sites, but only when the customer pays. We do track raw/uniques of surfer hits though, but a signup is just that - $ spent, of which you get a 20% cut.

              One thing to know about VOD sales is the income per member initially doesn't seem much, because the member buys small amounts of minutes at the start, but then we see massive leaps all the way up to our high-end pricing (690 Minutes for $49.69) and they just keep coming back. With 20% rebills for the life of the member our VOD sites are fantastic money spinners for our affiliates.
