That may work in some instances for some people living in certain areas, but here if the intruder were to damage my vehicle anyway, my having left it unlocked would negate my insurance claim.
If your car is stolen, forgetabout it. I doubt any insurance company anywhere would honor a claim where the vehicle was left unlocked. Of course you can say "how would they know?"..... it doesn't matter. *I* would know.
One of these years I'm going to splurge and buy myself one of those new condos and park my car underground in a building with in-house security measures in place.
