I use 1and1.
Never had any trouble and they're fast. I can have a domain purchased and live within 6-8 hours. Usually takes 1-2 hours to be able to point DNS then another 2-4 for DNS propagation.
And they're pretty cheap.

Register.com has been called teh best registrar of 2004/2005 and thats true
They are a bit overpriced but since you said that the price doesnt matter they should be fine,also they do 24/7 phone support

Godaddy sometimes close down domains when they get spam complaints. So its easy for someone to fuck with you and have your domains closed down. There's also lots of other bad things about them. Do a search and you will see.

Directnic was ok when I used them several years ago. When I wanted to try them again recently I had to wait way to long for a reply on my test email. So I continued my search.

Moniker.com took care of me, helped me with everything. Never experienced this good service from a registrar before, and I have used several of them.

Transfer your domains to Moniker.com if you want the best service available.

What other registrar will have the OWNER actually reply to important emails and questions?

I've yet to see this in any of a half a dozen registrars I've used over the past 7-8 years.
