He's not an isolationist. If anything he would advocate increasing trade and opening new markets with those "enemies" (remember Vietnam - now American tourists can buy a McDonald's Big Mac there). Prosperity and equal treatment go a long way in quelling radicalism. If that fails, so what. The Middle East is a basket case that won't be turned around by invasion and occupation. The ethnic, religious, and political divisions there run deeper than any of us would care to know.
