How do you save a email to a USB drive?

well, you should put the emails to save in a special folder and then save the file on your drive. I believe they are stored in "local settings" and called X.pst,

I don't think you can. all emails with outlook are stored in a single pst file. unless you take that folder and make a new pst out of it.

you can have multiple pst files open in outlook at the same time, and they can all be in different locations.

maybe create a new empty pst in the drive you want, and then import/export the folder you want from one pst to another.

Wow . I was hoping for a simple rightclick save as and pick the usb as the target. I swore my tech did it (he's out of town) and it saved as a text file with no formating.

Double click the email to open it in it's own window, not the preview pane. Then you can select file>Save As

G Rotica that worked! However there are about 150 emails and was hoping not to open one individually!

If you cant get it to work, you could always use outlook express. The easy backup of different folders, is my main reason for using it.

oh yeah, you can save/export any email as text only. but when you say "save the folder" I thought you meant you wanted to keep the entire outlook structure/settings intact, hence putting the emails in a new pst file.

try selecting them all, and then choosing file/save-as. I don't know - that might work.

Drag and drop. Just highlight the emails you want (use the shift button to select a range) and drag them to your usb drive. Saves them as .msg files.

Big Ben ii did the drag and drop and well it works from thsi computer i wonder if it will work from home
