A lot of these ordinances get put in place without many people knowing. Not everyone is going to scour the local paper everyday to notice a small blurb about being 500 feet from a residential area. On top of that, not many people are going to show up to their town council meetings to support a porn shop. Porn is still taboo in this country and while people love it, they love it in private.

I will actually write the ACLU about this. I think they actually do a good job on these issues. The FSC on the other hand is too concerned about raising money to look into this I'd imagine.
