Finally did it... and I'm now officially engaged.

Well... I finally did it!

While in FL over the holidays, my girlfriend of three years and I stole some time away from my family and were strolling along Clearwater Beach at sunset - where I got down on one knee, presented my mother's engagement ring (we're having hers made), and asked her to marry me.

I snapped this pic (using a point and click) 15-or-so minutes after the deed was done.

Just announced it to her family over New Year's... so I reckon' it's kosher to go ahead and let those who care to take note of such things know.

I guess I gotta get used to referring to her as "my fiancee" now instead of "my girlfriend."

We're not looking to have the ceremony for at least a year and a half... right now, we only know: sometime in Summer, and not this Summer. Figure the budget'll dictate the rest as we figure that part out.

Yeah, it'll be the first marriage for both of us... like I said, essentially both in our 30's, together 3 years now, we've lived together for a year and a half, and have at least that long to go before we officially tie the knot.

If it wasn't for kids, who knows... but we're thinking kids are in our future, and - in my perspective, at least - a marriage seems the best environment to bring a child up in (not that others can't work).

And we love each other - most assuredly.

My weekend plans just cleared up a bit, Jeff... so you, Nick, and the assorted Shane'sWorld/HushMoney peeps (as well as anyone else who's game in L.A.) should let me know if you feel like hitting a pub or five.
