You become quality by who you have faced and beaten in the ring. Not saying he couldn't be great. Just he has no business being in the ring with Fedor at this time. From what I saw the only trouble Fedor had was breathing as the guy layed on him. Sorry, that's not giving someone trouble.

i am too man. It sucks to see him not getting decent fights. now that i've thought on it a little more i do agree with you. he does need to fight a good fight soon or things might get bad. Even tho he has beat almost everyone, he HAS to show people he is still the man. He would have been in the UFC for sure if Dana White wasnt a fucking idiot making rediculous contract offers. Look at roy jones jr. he was a beast but ran out of competition. Lennox lewis had the same problem too but at least he realized it early enough and called it quits. He never threatened Fedor.. but he took him down 2 times, mounted him, threw some good punches... thats as much trouble as he ll ever get from 95% of his opponents.. Second, you can win fights but just laying on someone.. I think Choi turned out to be a valid opponent... I dont think theres many HW that have the power, the explosiveness and the technique to get that armbar in the position fedor was in.. I see Choi beating guys like Silvia.. or even NOgueira.. I think Choi is much stronger than Sapp who could have won agaisnt Noguera if elbows were allowed.. Give him one year of hard training and id like to see a rematch..Comment

Dana wanted him to fight 8x in 2 years and he wanted it to be where as long as Fedor won, his contract automatically extended for an open amount of time for the same amount of $$ but if he lost 1 fight the contract could be over any time the UFC chose. Shitty dealComment

That finishing armbar didn't look as tight as the first one Choi escaped from, but maybe it was the angle. I couldn't see him tapping from that angle either, although it was clear he wasn't disputing the stoppage.
I agree with those saying this was a 'mismatch' because Choi doesn't have any ground skills, but I disagree that this tarnishes the #1 status of Fedor in any way. A guy who stands 7 foot 1, and weighs in around 365lbs., even with minimal skills, is going to give any typical HW problems because you simply can not train to fight someone that size. Anyone who's actually done any grappling should know that it's very difficult to deal with the limbs of a guy almost twice your height and weight, even if you do have far more tools in the box.
Tim Sylvia is one of the bigger HW's in the UFC (if not in weight, certainly in height), and he's still around 5 inches shorter, and 80lbs. lighter than Choi.
Credit goes to Fedor for handling this monster in under 2 min. While I believe some of the top HW's out there aside from Fedor could probably figure him out, and put Choi away eventually, I don't think many, if any, could do it in under 2 min.
