    disturbing...photosharing site...

    DON'T POST LINKS LIKE THAT HERE DUMBASS!!!

    I went to the front page of that site just now, well actually it was a popup from some other site I was at, and in their section of like "recent pics" or something theres some sort of child porn....not cool.

    I emailed the webmaster, but is there anything else to do?

                                      I just reported them to Yahoo, their ads are all over the site. I don't care if it is a mainstream photohost according to their terms or not. Let them lose their revenue, that will teach them to allow that shit.

                                                  The reason I posted a link to the sites main page (not the offending image) is because I know theres people here who know what to do with such sites, who to contact, how to get in touch with hosts and such, thus I put the sites url.

                                                                      Guys I think it's pretty obvious that's a file upload site. Just like putfile.com for example, they don't have control of what people upload. Best they can do is delete it.

                                                                      Judging by the amount of uploaded files, it seems to be a forgotten site or very new site. Of course it's piss poor judgment to allow the script to post the newest file uploads with out approval, but damn give the guy a chance to get the shit down b4 yoiu go turning him in.

                                                                      It's pretty obvious he's not promoting it, and it was some user that uploaded it.

                                                                                              True this one case could be isolated, but somehow i doubt it.

                                                                                              flickr,isp newsgroups and p2p programs usually have software to detect and prevent cp from being posted , or at the very least ways of reporting and tracking people who do.

                                                                                                  Yes maybe so, but this case it's probably a single individual's webpage. Whom is unlikely to have access to the same tools as the big boys.

                                                                                                  This is more like my example of someone spamming your blog's comments and then someone reports you for CP. What makes you think this is anything but a isolated event?

                                                                                                  The site only had a few pictures uploaded and it had no page rank.. So it's likely it's a pretty new site or a forgotten one. I will agree it's a pretty piss poor business model, but I highly doubt the guy meant for it to be used for CP.

                                                                                                                                                          Image/text recognition is only one of the methods the sites you mentioned uses to screen results.. the other is hand reviews and ip bans that GFY does have.. if you really HAD posted a pedo picture , a gfy mod would have deleted it and your ip banned andtheres a way to contact them directly on any page a anon user can add content to.. and theres a way to track and detect users who try to access thru a proxy .all the sites you mentioned USE these mthods to keep pedo pictures like that from showing up on their front page ( THATS WHY YOU DONT SEE IT ) , its called common sense.. if you have software thats easy to abuse you dont ignore it because you are to stupid to implement it..
