I have learned to avoid using Skype between 10am and 7pm daily. I guess it's the internet congestion that peaks a coule of times during that period that makes the calls drop out and sound terrible.

shut off other active apps to dedicate all the bandwidth to skype. Also might depend on the other person's bandwidth, I dunno I always use skypeoutComment
