The REAL launch of the skin will have promotions, launch a second payout option, reveal the relaunch of GUBA, announce exciting partnrships, and more!
Stay tuned, friends. There are lots of exciting bells and whistles on the way from GUBA.com!

so your saying that eric and GFY can't get their shit together and wasted all the time they had putting your skin up only to remove it that it had nothing to do with the outcry of insanity against them after webmasters who are deeply upset complained?

not surprising with a growing number of them being exactly that.Originally posted by HairToStayThe biggest issue is people see adult webmasters as people with no morals and no self-respect.
blame those boards that brainwash every wanker with online access into thinking they could make a business peddling porn. once they don't get results within weeks or days, while putting in massive efforts like a kingshost account or even paid hosting for 5 bucks, they resort to cheating and worse.
GUBA is a more pro approach, that's the only difference. it must appeal to those 'webmasters'..Comment

I have a question for GUBA. Have noticed that when posting movie files with programs like PowerPost they are not added to Guba, however when using some other newsgroups clients movie files usually appears on Guba. How you choose content to archive?Last edited by Meteoseek; 02-21-2006, 01:50 PM.Comment

Just curious...Originally posted by SiMpLeThanks lesbodojo for the access to guba so my team can sweep. I see now you ARE willing to work with providers to resolve any issues.
Will those be billable hours of sweeping by your team?
Will this sweeping excursion reimburse previous losses Guba has already pocketed?Comment

I am reserving any sort of comment on the Guba situation, only because I've not had the time to look at both sides of the issue. I will say, however, that I've had the pleasure of working with Kathleen in the past during her time at AFF. In my personal experience, Kathleen has been nothing short of honest, solid, and extremely knowledgeable about our industry. I think it's unfortunate that in cases such as this, a single person is left to bear the brunt of everyone's ire.
I would hope that people would consider her history in the industry before attacking her personally. She's good people caught on the frontline of a very controversial issue.

Im not taking sides (I usually try not to) so dont play haters with me from either side - just some facts/misconceptions that need to be cleared up.
First - Google DOES host the thumbs of the images and they DO manipulate them to fit their pages - and yes Google does make revenue (its called AdWords) from having this as one of their "services". This is one of the major contentions that people have always made when filing DMCAs. Different than GUBA - not really - its a service/front end that makes money for Google - just with a different approach.
Second - You don't see some of the major affiliate programs saying anything about this for two reasons - one as stated before, many of them used to have (and Im guessing there are still a few that do to this day) interfaces inside their members area similar to GUBA for accessing the newsgroups content - the only difference is they dont advertise it heavily on the outside tours like they used to. The other reason is that some of them POST their own content to the newsgroups as an avenue of advertising - and have for years - its free and great branding. Why do you think that these same affiliate programs also run a lot of the password trading sites - same deal - branding and capatalizing on the "dark side of the net"
Just some tidbits and like I said - not taking either side (now Im off to fire up Agent get some more MP3s that were posted on Usenet today)Comment

In representing any company, it is a marketing person's responsibility to support and promote the company that pays their salary. If she were working for my company, I would expect no less. Unfortunately, she seems to be the only way on the firing line. I think she is responsibly listening and doing her best to provide solutions.Partner Manager, FNCash.com

I don't want to speculate on why she's working for them - it's her business. But it's unfortunate, as you pointed out, she's left alone here to defend the program while whomever else works there (or owns it) has decided to keep silent, leaving her to the wolves.
The only other pro-Guba voice (he seems to be in every thread these days spamming his ref. code) is definetly not helping matters.
It doesn't say much for the company and it would be even more unfortunate, in the end, if her reputation takes a hit in the process.Comment

YOU should be the ones monitoring since it's YOUR service.
And you can, the technology is not difficult. But instead you put the onus back on the content owners to police the entire Internet as well as your program?
Very weak.

knowing what guba does/is she shouldn't of taken the job if she didn't want to bear the brunt of their wrongdoings. unless she agrees with what they do, in which case she'll be treated like a theif by those who think thats what guba does. *shrugs*Originally posted by ChandiegirlIn representing any company, it is a marketing person's responsibility to support and promote the company that pays their salary. if we got a group of people together to take note of the copyright violations for every major to semi major site out there (which might take a few months) i bet it would make guba a lot less appealing to its members. although this process is one that would have to be constantly on going and one we shouldn't have to do.

Fortunately for Kathleen, I believe that our industry is filled with a forgiving group of people. I think the key point that needs to be taken is that Guba has some major issues that need to be addressed if they hope to be a successful partner to companies in our business. I, for one, would be thankful for all the free advice they have been given. Perhaps they will heed the advice and reshape themselves into a company that webmasters would be happy to work with.Partner Manager, FNCash.com

Ok we specifically looked for video scenes, clips and IPOD/PSP MP4 video for New Sensations, Digital Sin, Hot Boxxx, VenganceXXX and Greedy Video. We did not search, we browsed every page, every thumb, dates ALL.
Groups surfed under Erotica Video Groups:
alt.binaries.multimedia.Erotica 2678 5 388 February 21
alt.binaries.multimedia.erotica.Amateur 2206 12 554 February 21
alt.binaries.Erotica 971 7 71 February 21
alt.binaries.Nospam.multimedia.facials 383 0 61 February 18
alt.binaries.Nospam.multimedia.erotica 372 0 114 February 20
alt.binaries.multimedia.erotica.Lesbians
alt.binaries.multimedia.erotica.Interracial 364 0 89 February 19
alt.binaries.erotica.Teen.female 262 0 2 February 19
alt.binaries.multimedia.erotica.Lesbians 218 2 65 February 21
alt.binaries.Mpeg.videos 216 0 44 February 20
Took no time at all being we used 8 rowed thumbnailed listings and there are 4 of us surfing.
Total NS video's found = 0
BUT Redlight and Northstar are saturated within:
- alt.binaries.multimedia.Erotica
- alt.binaries.multimedia.erotica.Amateur
Redlight and Northstar (braincash) should have a look and confirm.
In closing of this post... Even though we didn't find any OUR content - GUBA IS FOR SURE PROFITING off other studios and content producers property. Strong words but seeing it with my own eyes... FACT.
Sorry Kathleen, I know your not to blame and I hold nothing at all against you what so ever, the company you rep for is and they are scumbags imo.Sean Holland

Google´s thumbnail display is rulled as "fair use" in courts, and the main/big image is NOT on Googles servers... its a very different from GUBA´s setup, which hosts everything.Originally posted by LinksterFirst - Google DOES host the thumbs of the images and they DO manipulate them to fit their pages - and yes Google does make revenue (its called AdWords) from having this as one of their "services". The other main difference between Google and GUBA is in intent.Surfmastering : a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery

any webmaster affil program that has forkbeard on board knows his traffic is solid. being ranked up top google and having the most producitve fetish traffic is something most fetish programs would love to have. i know hes not paid to do this.Originally posted by BrujahYou slipped to #3 ? What happened ? Yet, you want more and more competition from hundreds of others with plenty of traffic and SEO to jump aboard and push Guba to compete aggressively with you ? To each his own I guess.
and i for a fact, do not like people using stolen content thats for sure. so what is gube going to be using their services for. say if ALL liscensed content was removed. i guess it would be narrowed down to amateur pics? i dont know if people would sign up for that.
but i do know lots of people promoting guba and making good money off it, i guess it comes down to a moral issue. same with all those thumb sites with big thumbs and crop them to look like CP, its all brought down to morals. do you do it? at the end of the day you choose who to promote and dont. some people dont promote certain teen programs because they look too young. or certain hardcore. well you can see the point i am getting at. but by making 100 threads about guba its going nowhere. just make a choice, promote it or not. if you dont want too, i am sure your traffic will do well with many other programs.
