When we first moved to Memphis several years ago we were at a party with the people I work with and an interesting conversation started. I was shocked to find there were 3 people there, 3 people who I considered very together, intelligent and succesful that swore to seeing UFO's. Two of these people were husband and wife, I worked with her and knew her to be a very reserved and educated person and her husband was the president of security for First Tennessee bank (IT security) both insisted seeing a UFO one night while out driving. He wouldn't talk much about it, and knew others were thinking he was crazy for making such a statement but he fully believed he had seen something from another planet. She was much more vocal about it. The other person also at this party was the Vice Presidents wife of my IT department (a fortune 100 company at the time) she is also the VP of IT for another large local business here. She too swore she had seen a UFO at one point. Personally I don't believe in such a thing, but I do have an open mind and listened and asked lots of questions. They were all convinced, and I left the party thinking WTF just happened.Comment

I do have to say though, I'd never really thought much of the existence of UFO's...until I saw something recently on crop circles.
I'd obviously heard of them before, but not paid much attention.
The show I saw showed some of them and I just don't see it being possible that a human being could do some of the intricate designs that have been done. At least not in the time they're supposed to have had to do it in.Comment

They can tell the prank circles right away because the crops are bent over and have a sharp angle from stepping on them. The unexplainable have stems that are curved. You can't do that from stepping on them.
But the most unexplainable kind are where each individual stem has been partially blown out to make them fall over.
Also, "real" crop circles have a small level of radiation that can be detected around them. This is consistent with people who have claimed to have come into close contact with a flying UFO and then were diagnosed with radiation sickness.Comment

While I completely agree the Pyramids are a marvel and a mystery, it is partially a result of our naive belief that we are far more advanced than our ancestors that leads us to shake our heads and come up with wild speculation.
Many early civilizations were extremely advanced in engineering, architecture, mathematics, etc. They also worshipped their gods in a way that make current cultures look atheist by comparison. The time and effort put into projects like the Pyramids seem so monumental - and possibly wasteful - to us now ("all that work for a king?") that we have difficulty grasping how (and why!) they did it.
So I go back to my earlier point. Just because we can't explain it in terms we understand, that doesn't mean the next logical answer is that aliens came down and built them. Between the 2 theories, I think highly intelligent and motivated humans building them instead of aliens is a far more reasonable (and simple) conclusion.
Same goes for crop circles ... and we certainly have the technology to make them, as for motivation? You'll have to ask the people that did them

Scientists can tell exactly which stars our DNA came from.
Once matter from those stars (via asteroids, comets, etc etc) reached earth, they gave us the necessary building blocks for all kinds life.
