    Team Canada prevails over Czechs

    Wayne Gretzky, the most prolific scorer in hockey history, wanted more goals and commitment. And what Wayne Gretzky wants, he usually gets.

    Team Canada responded to Gretzky's edict with its most determined effort of the Torino Olympics, a 3-2 victory over the Czech Republic at Turin's Palasport Olimpico on Tuesday.

    "Every game is a stepping stone in getting better and getting to the final game," Gretzky told CBC Sports.

    "I thought our guys played really hard and got our feet wet with a nice win. It's do or die now."

                  I am sure that big Wayne is not happy with that game
                  Victory is Victory for sure - but Canada was fucking lucky to score for 2:0 and 3:0
                  The 2nd period and 3rd period was just teaching lessons "how to play Ice hockey - performed by Czech national team"

                      "Team Canada squeaks by Czechs by the skin of Brodeur's ass"


                      It's a start, but they'll have to step it up even more from here on out and play three solid periods, not just one.

                                      the Czechs outclassed them for two periods. this is a bad Canadian team - not sure why really. keep thinking that the new rules in the NHL while making for much more exciting NHL games have taken away the edge/grit off the Canadian players. They aren't gritty and they definitely have nothing on the Europeans when it comes to skating and skills.

                                      they may dig down deep and find that heart in the playoff round and win gold - but is sure doesn't look good right now.

                                          I was happy that the Canadian Men actually won the game today but even more proud to learn/see that the canadian Girls won the GOLD!!!!! WE ARE GOOD!
