    How much $$ can you make?

    I have been building my site for about 3 months now. I get a few signups a month for my listed sites. I am not a TGP submitter. I just have my own front page with pics but mostly I add pics to my forum. I also allow others to post thier content.

    How much money can be made this way instead on a full TGP?

    I work on my site at nights and weekends as much as I can. Am I going about this the right way? Your opinions please.

              Bottom line... you won't even make enough to live off of. You need to be thnking about a different way to go about this if you want to start making money.

First, you have to know what your target figures are (goals). Ok, tell ya what, I'm not really doing anything tonight so I will help you out for a little while.

                              It all depends on YOU. How much time you have to 1) manually do the work and (MORE IMPORTANTLY) 2) research alternative traffic sources. Since people vary, the results will also vary.

                              However, your income will be enhanced if you:
                              1) Reinvest your earnings into your business
                              2) Take advantage of free tools sponsors give you as well as those found on the Net
                              3) Establish a mentality of LEARNING

                                  I'm by no means an expert, but I HAVE learned not to put all my eggs in one basket. You want to diversify ... there are a ton of different ways of getting traffic. Try them all, see what works for you, then do more of it, but never close the doors on new ideas and new sources.

                                      Ok here is the breakdown.

                                      I make about $106,000 a year as a piping designer. I design offshore oil and gas production facilities here in Houston Texas. My goal is to create a good source of income building a good site with great content and members.

                                      I am not looking for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I am very willing to work at it. I am just starting to get a little frustrated with it. I spend all of my extra time learning this trade. My wife is actually cool with this idea because I have shown her what you all can produce as far as really great sites.

                                      I am not against spending good money into it because I realize it is a business. I have bought traffic but it seems to do me no good.

                                      I guess I am just looking for direction.

                                      My time is worth money so I do not want to waste it.

                                      Total I have spent around $2500 in the past 3-4 months on hosting and mainly ads on retnuh and thumbzilla.

                                      I stop advertising last month and this month has been really slow.

                                          I also think you need to find a more specific niche ... sending traffic to a 'general' porn page isnt going to do you much good. Gotta filter it somehow

                                              You shouldn't have to put any more money into it right now. You just need to be creative. The reason I am asking you about your monetary goals and expectations from the site is to gauge how far you want to take this (just how successful you want this site to be). In other words, are your goals to eventually start your own program or do you just want to run this one site only?

                                                  $120 for front page design.
                                                  $100 for vbulletin
                                                  $800 for 4 months on Dedicated server
                                                  $500 Thumbzilla adds
                                                  $600 for Retnuh ads - great - traffic
                                                  $340 in traffic buying

                                                  $2460 total so far!

                                                      Ok I am starting to see what you are saying. Yes I wanted to make this site great and just deal with it but now I have all these affiliates and uploaded this teaser content is very time intensive with little return.

                                                      So I guess what I need to do is look into spreading myself out into other areas? TGP right?

                                                                              Porn forums don't usually work unless you're giving them something that they can't already get for free (passwords, zips, full videos, members area shit ) which is a big no no. I mean there are forums like that out there making money but it's not the way you want to go about it if you wanna last long.

                                                                              Find yourself a specific niche and target audience and get cracking. A general place to get porn no longer works...only the established places get that kind of traffic. Easier money in mainstream IMO...but why not do a little of both? The adult industry is highly competitive and people pull shit that you never see done in the mainstream world.

                                                                              You'll get alot better advice from the more seasoned vets but basically to sum it up....find a niche, an audience for that niche...and feed it to them on a daily basis.

                                                                                          Maybe I should do a little of both TGP etc and the Forum. I always though of my gallery as a front page for the forum but maybe it should not be.

                                                                                                              to be perfectly objective - as it sounds you've got some money to spend on this, i would suggest the best way to spend it to start off with is with coaching off someone experienced and credible. whether someone who works in mainstream or in adult i would say you would find that very helpful, and a much better use of your $. i can offer suggestions if this is something you feel would work for you.

                                                                                                                      i can't think of one resource right now that tells you how to convert traffic. you'll need copywriting skills, usability and design skills ... and find what works first hand. learn from your competition too.

                                                                                                                      this probably hasn't answered your question, but internet marketing is a huge subject, so rather than spending money on trial and error i would suggest learning from those more experienced than you and who are willing to share their knowledge. those resources I've mentioned are a good start.

                                                                                                                      and be careful about much informaiton offered, especially on free sites - much is out of date and also a lot of it is just plain incorrect.

                                                                                                                      and btw - i don't think you need a dedicated server, especially at the level you're currently playing at. a basic shared hosting package will be fine.

                                                                                                                                      Its not that you suck, but porn is saturated there is no fast money. Each penny you earn is a seriously worked for penny and after all of that you goto love what you are doing because if you dont you will become bored, or frustrated.
