I am so fucking pissed off right now!! Both at http://www.online-video.com/ and myself. I just learned the biggest fuckin newbie mistake ever.

I checked my stats toady during lunch, and everyhting seemed normal. Traffic from Asspoint, zilla, RR... it all looked normal. Except that Online-video.com was higher in my reffer stats than anyone else, and I don't remember submitting anything to them. So I went to his site. http://www.online-video.com/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi

It's just a fucking HOTLINK BBS. Hundreds of photos all hotlinked.

They target ebony sites and just flat out steal and laugh the whole thing off. One of the top threads had about 15 passwords to pay sites.

I immediately loaded an htaccess file into my galleries. That's the lesson I just learned. No matter what MAKE SURE THAT FILE IS THERE!

Is there anyway to stop them? I doubt it. So be warned if you run an ebony site, (and if you fuck up like I did) they will rape you for every image they can.

If sombody isn't hotlinking your pics, then he's cheating your script. As soon as you stop that...you find sombody else stealing you site design!

Just when you think everthing is cool...you get a letter from your hosting company telling you that they are experiencing a DOS attack.

Live and learn. I have protection up the ass on all my sites. Referrer protection, hotlink protection, frame breakers on every page, deny/allow, and anyone from asia is redirected to a sponsor. Fucking Indian free fucking loading bastards my fucking bastards ass - they can fuck off.

If you're doing avs, watch out for redway.org, they are a bunch of first class pricks over there.

Set up your hotlink protection to display a graphic - say, banner.gif

On that banner put "type this URL into your browser for FREE hacked passwords"

Then when they type in, say, yoursite.com/passwords/, the index.html file opens a pop up, second.html. But - when second.html loads, it opens a pop up, index.html. You get the idea, they have to be lightning fast with the ALT-F4 or their computer will crash in about 10 seconds and they'll wonder what the fuck happened. Serves 'em right... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Why not rename all your pics and realign your html accordingly, then turn all the old pics into a small graphic that says "Hahaha, fucking idiot!" or something even more insulting (I'll leave that up to you). All of a sudden, users of the site will be getting a graphic kick in the teeth.

What would happen if I hotlinke their images onto a page and meta - refreshed it once every 20 seconds?
I could have that running on my desktop background. Or would the cache somehow affect the way it downloads?

This doesn't work on boards like that unless they try to view the image by itself, but if you get someone linking to an index you forgot to close, let it go for about a half hour to build some traffic and then redirect it with htaccess to a list of avs sites (maybe Sex Key stuff). Real good for extra cash.

Running paysites is a different story. I let them hotlink all they want then put I [email protected] on all the images.

Oh yea...
The first line of that .htaccess file will make .htm & .html files be recognized as .shtml...

you can take it out if you like.

And LD, HOLY SHIT!! I did what you said and made a crash site. I actually went one step further and made a 3 page crash instead of two.

index.html pops index2, and has an exit set to popup "index3".
index2.html pops index3, and has an exit set to popup "index" and finally,
index3.html pops index, and has an exit set to "index2"

I thought this way I could pop a console as they were closing the windows as well. Like a double crash thing. Anyway, I tested it. (I know it was a dumb move but I was curious)
Plus, I knew what I was in for.

So I tested it, and well, you know what happens. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop...

WOOHOO. Success. So I fuckin laid into the "Alt+F4" and held on tight. My browser fought a good fight but after several minutes of holding strong, my keyboard finally won. I beat it. But it took forever.

So thanks for the tip I can't wait to unleash it on those fuckers.
