At this point it's not just about fixing it. It's about their choice to have done it in the first place. This is seriously one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen a sponsor do.Originally posted by JFKactually I have met them more than once and stand by my statement. Why dont you allow them to fix what the problem is and take it from there
You can't blame a bad programmer on this either. You won't find any programmer in the world who'll support this type of recurring affiliate sales tracking. Even a programming newbie would know enough not to do this.Comment

Hello Krille,Originally posted by KrilleThe 3 minute fix to the problem they don't want to fix cause they are making bank with it? I've lost thousands from their "recurring" program, a bunch of scammers thats what they are.
AWEmpire - if you want to promote the recurring program who pays you less and less every month when you send more and more traffic
Would love to hear about that "3 minute fix" you mentioned.
We currently track by cookies BUT we're also working on a for life option to satisfy everyone. And while we're on the subject of "whales", take a look at our top 10 webmasters' sales and conversion rates posted here. Last time I checked they were pretty happy with our program.
In my opinion for life doesn't mean anything UNLESS you're making money with it, in other words:
If site A doesn't convert as well, but has the for life option while site B tracks with cookies, but converts better...which one are you going to promote?

I tend to agree, if you look at reply #31Originally posted by HeadlessHe's more then likely just here for the drama.
So is the other idiot.

Here it is.Originally posted by Mickey-AWEWould love to hear about that "3 minute fix" you mentioned.
This is basically how your system works right now...
- Existing member purchases more time.
- A script checks to see if an affiliate cookie is present on his system.
- If it is, you credit the referring webmaster.
Here's how it should work...
- Existing member purchases more time.
- A script checks the member info dB table to see if anyone referred him.
- If someone did, you credit that referring webmaster.
To fix this, here is what you need to do. I obviously don't know your exact setup, so this is just the basic idea.
1. Add a referring affiliate field to the member info table.
2. In the script that enters member info into the database at original signup, add code to grab the affiliate ID variable (from a regular affiliate cookie + URL ref ID) and enter that into the referring affiliate field with the rest of the data.
3. Modify the buy credits script to check for the affiliate ID in the actual database instead of the cookie.
I must also point out that your current setup of crediting affiliates for recurring sales based on cookies may be leaving open the possibility of affiliate cookie hijacking by other affiliates, depending on how you are setting the cookies.
Either way, this is the worse method of recurring sales tracking I have ever seen.Comment

Cookie hijacking
"I must also point out that your current setup of crediting affiliates for recurring sales based on cookies may be leaving open the possibility of affiliate cookie hijacking by other affiliates, depending on how you are setting the cookies."
Cookie hijacking is not possible, they can not be overwritten according to the current settings.Comment

And that is exactly the reason why many think "it's just a 3 minute fix". There's tons of elements that you have to take into consideration when attempting to modify the method of tracking of an affiliate system. Nevertheless, like i said, it's already in the works to satisfy all affiliates' needs.Originally posted by Matt 26zTo fix this, here is what you need to do. On another note, most of our highest earners have created sites that keep their surfers "glued" to THEIR sites and not the ones in our portfolio. I'm not giving away the greatest secret of webmasterism when i share this, because it's just as easy to achieve in theory as it is to "just implement the 3 minute fix".
it takes 3 minutes...to post about it.

Is it still 30% for 30 or 90 days can't remember which, but that was what turned me off when I first checked out the program.
I looked over the site and its says 30% but not for how long. So if the user don't delete his cookie is it for life or 30/90 days?Comment

A.W.E. has a forum , prob the best place to get specific details, but i do know they are trying to integrate a non-cookie based tracking that would work a diff way.Originally posted by Verbal KintIs it still 30% for 30 or 90 days can't remember which, but that was what turned me off when I first checked out the program.

Welcome to GFY, there are a lot of unprofessional people here. Pretty soon your site will be added to a TEAM of 11 doing shaving test and they will accuse you of shaving...Originally posted by Ron-AWEThe best thing about the internet, that you are free to decide what site you build, how it will look like and who you are going to promote, etc. I respect your opinion, but please show some respect for me and the others not swearing and accusing us.
It's probably best if you don't post here, you can't win especially when you are dealing with know-it-alls and 10 year olds, and a lot of surfers and wanna bee webmasters. I would let smokey do your dirty work and not let this site get you down. I am sure you have a good program. The sales are all relative, you pay more 30% because people lose some sales over time. You have a certain % of profit you are happy with and the rest goes to your affiiates to try to keep them happy. If you do get the tracking corrected you likely will have to pay less % (like 25%) if they make money off of them for life. If your company makes bank and profits soar you will likely raise your payouts and intice more webmasters to try it out. Most people here think the companies try to bleed the affiliates dry and shave and steal as much as they can get away with. I know that this is not true but you will have a hard time convincing them

If the company makes a high profit, then they can pay their affiliates more. So companies like ifriends who have tons of upsells that I don't get paid on (VIP memberships, girls fanclubs) etc... they make a lot from those things so they can afford to pay me more per a FREE signup. it's all relative. This is also why it is important for us little guys to support our companines and have an interest in them doing good. If i caugt someone scammign clickcash i would turn their ass in. They cause clickcash to lose money they might not bump payouts again, if they have a lot of people scamming them.
Nice to see a company post their affiliate's top sales, well that actually have sales worth posting. 40K for 2 weeks for the top guy, nice.... i still got him beat though

You obviously have some vendetta out for them . I think its been pretty clearly explained how the billing works, if you cant understand it , then get a dictionary , but dont go around accusing people of "scamming" ..Originally posted by Krilledoing my share of informing other webmasters on what scammers to avoid.

"scammed affiliates on rebills " would imply you are not getting rebills that were promised, and that simply isnt the case. You get every rebill as explained by the awe rep above..
I understand your frustration , but taking it out on people trying to help doesnt do you any good, it just makes you look uptight and misguided.
You dont have to like every sponsor out there or how they bill ,thats why there is more than one to choose from..hatisblack at yahoo.comComment
