I think they should be required to vote on every issue though, Which is a joke at this point. Some senators and congressmen vote 1 of 5 issues. This party crap is destroying this country. But Imagine how quickly we could go from being a great nation to a shitty one if there weren't these stale mates. The patriot act was passed because they didn't allow enough time to debate the pros-cons. Rather than debating they all unanimously voted and look how that worked out. I think sometimes you have to stand back and still admire how well our country has performed and how well we are performing today.

Obviously they are not there for the money. They are addicted to the power and fame. Politicians are all self serving phonies.
The amount of time and money wasted by these clowns is really obscene. And when they talk about raising taxes, that's what pisses me off the most. So much pork and waste in DC. Fuckers.
And I agree with Tony. No stale crusty lifers. That is what makes government stand still. All the inside games they play with lobbyists and eachother.
