Life is about choices but in a country where desperation, poverty, HIV, drugs, and prostitution is prominent, many choose the "seemingly easy way". Many also do it in hopes of meeting "that guy" who will marry them or take care of them one day.(which tends to happen a lot)
I was saddened when I first went home to visit. The thousands of beautiful women, who are most times forced into that life, as a result of having to carry the burden of taking care of their families.

This is exactly why Reak, xxxjay and some others in this thread are absolute rock-bottom lowlifes. Blinded by their own lustful hunger they live the illusion prostitutes with their pretty smile and laughter want them to see.
Whatever these idiots say here, there's no equal business relationship. Being a sex tourist in such countries amounts to exploitation. Supporting an economy can be done in lots of other ways.
Also, the claim that any Thai girl can be a prostitute is born in a delusional pervert's mind. The guy, again blinded by both idiocy and lust-coloured glasses doesn't realise his views are suffering severe selection bias. This is typical talk of arrogant nincompoops who see the world around them as their playground.
You must also be pretty incompetent of normal human interaction and insight if you can't judge for yourself if you can trust your "girlfriend". Damn.
