I think you're onto something, Gianna, when you say that dating has changed. I think we CAN ask for more out of a relationship than was previously expected, and it seems like a lot of people just can't or won't live up to these new expectations. Of course you could argue; why should they? It seems like the older and (thus) more confident I get, the less I am willing to put up with in another person. My current pattern is a "3 strikes and you're out" kind of thing. Five years ago I would have felt more obligated to work it out. Now I expect things to be entirely equal.

And, of course, the classic line:
Studies show that married men live longer than single men. And I disagree with that. I think it just FEELS longer.
Lately I try not to have too many expectations - when you have expectations you get disappointed
