How do you think it will effect us? They say our industry is recession proof I find that hard to believe.

I doubt it as well. If people are feeling broke they are feeling broke and don't spend money. But no matter what is going on, something will sell. It just might not be plain old porn.

We could make it through a mild recession that didn't last very long. A strong recession, and people will give up Internet, Phone/Cable TV cancels will increase, it could mean possible mass job loss too.
Online Adult has a world wide market to help hold it together though.
If sin makes it, like drugs, drinking, smoking and they say porn. I would bet if a strong recession came then things like magazines and dvd sales would increase again and online sales would decrease.

Agree - online is no different to "offline" when it comes to recession.
Last "kinda recession" I knew of was in the early 80's - and the adult industry went thru the same dive as most businesses. It was just a matter of rolling with the flow, keeping control of costs etc.
Another "hit" on any biz is talk of war or major disaster - and considering there is one which have been going on for years, - this biz has done not too bad, but no doubts, it would be a lot better without a "war".
Very hard to guess Tony, but still got doubts there would be an actual recession. The US obviously has problems and these have rippled outwards and affecting other economies, but the others have a "not bad" potential of getting over the problem relatively quickly. Let's hope somebody addresses the core underlying US problem and avoid any recession - that stuff is far too damaging and prob the last thing anyone would be bothering about is adult entertainment.Comment

Not asking about the internet Im asking about the adult industry as a whole.I have never been in a recession while in the adult industry.I dont think working pt at a tittie club on the weekends in the 80's is the same,my main job was in the auto industry at the time and I got laided off. I think you underestimate how bad this recession is going to be... Many of the world's chief economists are predicting a crash worse than the Great Depression.
