ive just adapted myself to the constant slowness of gfy, i.e. when i click a thread i try to do something useful in the meantime now, like jogging or boiling an egg. But now everything hangs when half of the page is loaded... stops at half of the threads on the front page, or half of the posts in a thread. Never happened before, anyone else notice this?

just went back to main forum and happened again, happens all the time now.. keeps loading but nothing happens..example:

Most of the time I get a white screen and nothing else, so I go take a dump or get a cup of coffee and then come back.
It ran great for a few days after the last outage. But like crap since.Comment

Its' poorly written javascript that allows GFY to run along fine but kills your browser until finally it gives up on the javascript and just finishes loading the site.
It's why your browser becomes unresponsive for a while.

this site has been this way for years now people....
slow, barely loads, many times blank page instead of thread, edits take forever and often dont even happen until the edit timer is up and the post cant be edited lol etc...

all day today it is good again, i only had this problem yesterday, all day... they fixed something. nothing to do with my toolbars etc, tried also with IE yesterday and exactly the same thing happened, all other sites run perfect all the time.Last edited by nico-t; 12-08-2007, 02:08 PM.Comment
