I less than 60 seconds you can switch to Firefox

I'm too paranoid to surf porn on my new laptop with IE so i broke down and got firefox again even though it took up a lot of resources on my old comp...

Just run the software, import your bookmarks, and voila...Everything looks the same...Man that was easy.

    I gotta say...

Those who encounter daily issues with IE are noobs and shouldn't install exe files they get in their inbox. FF is good but let's not get carried away. It's pretty much its tabs and a few nifty extensions that does it for 95% of its users.

in less than 2 minutes you can switch to K-Meleon and see what a real browser looks like, and I gave every single browser out there a try, from FF to Crazy Browser

Nothing let me repeat nothing comes even close to K-Meleon

The IE7 has tabbed browsing if you like that sort of thing. Also has a RSS reader if you like those too. FF extentions are not by FF, but by 3rd parties. Tell me who does the quality control on those things? Do they do any kind of testing to make sure those extentions aren't full of security holes or aren't overly buggy?

The new i.e. is safer than firefox right now as far as open holes ( although that never lasts long for i.e. )

Firefox just can't compete if it cant at LEAST offer the same minimum that i.e. does..

The main reason people dont use i.e. is because of open holes. Now that more people are using firefox people are finding more holes to exploit with it.

I have fired up IE maybe twice a month since I got firefox over a year ago and that is only for a couple sites that don't seem to like firefox because they need a ton of crap running.

haven't gotten spyware, virus, or anything in well over a year now.

                                    firefox
                                    sygate (firewall)

thats all you need to stay safe. if you get anything after that then you were extremely unlucky or stupid.

Exactly the reason why FF was "safer" is because so few people used it, it wasn't worth the hassle to hackers. ANY browser that get any significant useage is going to be exploited. Macs aren't really safer, just that hackers aren't going to waste time and effort on something less than 2% of people use. Just because Yugos were less likely to get stolen tham BMW's didn't make them better cars.

Sometimes I wish Firefox would hurry and get 50% of the market share. That way they could hurry up and exploit it and the same people that got trojans using IE will get them using FF and blame everyone but themselves. Then they can sit around and wax philosophical about how great of a product FF was before the corrupt powers that be got too big or some other nonsense.

well said. the only reason why IE is exploited is cause it's popular. a computer geek won't waste his/her time exploiting FF right now cause it's not worth it

Lol I shouldnt have to use an extra program to block problems with a browser. I dont use anything with firefox and get NO SPYWARE. Its really a no brainer.

Firefox is awright. I don't see the big shit with it. I get the same spyware and all that.

I tend to stick with IE from habit, updates, etc... I just use the Google toolbar to fuck popups and AVG to shield the rest of the machine. I get less virus crap and what not than other people in the office, and they have MacAffee, windows XP (I have 2000 - can't get out of the habit...)

                                                Am happy.

                                                Am fullaporn.

Actually get more mainstream spam than anything... go figure.

Plus you have to download and install MP9 for firefox... frustrating shit.

                                                Neh.

I never have issues with IE.. turn off active X. Firefox on the other hand I've had a lot of issues with.

Because I only use firefox. If you are still getting spyware its not coming from Firefox. You are downloading something, or you are still using IE.

I found it annoying after just a short while. You dont realize how many sites use flash till you have to click each flash item on a page.

Thats what happens when there is a monopoly. Firefox is the first real competition IE has had in the browser market for a long time, and thats what it took for improvments to appear as in IE7. Just about every browser out there has been superior to IE for quite a while, they just never got tracktion. I personally cant see how people can stand to use it.
