point blank won't do anything but punch a hole straight through. bullets "mushroom" as controlled by a copper jacketting surrounding the lead tip. i'm not an expert on ballistics, but this is the basic concept. a good ammunition will mushroom on impact and carry enough velocity to still penetrate and make the kill. this is why and entry wound is typically the diameter of a pencil, while exit wounds can range anywhere from the size of a fastball to blowing the entire other side of the animal clear out, depending on the range you're shooting at and the caliber of the rifle you're shooting.
believe me, you skullcap a deer with a big bore rifle like .308 at 50-100 yards you're gonna blow that fucking head to pieces. or at the very least lift the top right off it.
in the end, there's just no way any of us can know if the pic is real or not. to me the eyes just don't look right. looks much more like some sort of latex prosthetic fx crew work to me.
