Two of Golf's Greatest and I've got Pics!

I got a chance to check out the Del Webb Father Son Challenge golf tournament at Champions Gate in Orlando this past weekend and welcomed the opportunity to photograph it. I've never shot golf pictures before and it requires it's own special etiquette that provided quite a challenge to get some nice shots.

What made this event so special is it had some of golf's greatest playing with their sons and it gave me a rare chance to photograph them. I was there for the Pro/Am practice round and was invited to tag along with the foursome that was grouped with Greg Norman. Later I made my way over to the eighteenth green and watched the others come in.

Two of Golf's greatest, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer finished their rounds in front of me and as I watched them walk the green I felt humbled by their presence. Two true gentlemen that have lived lives of impecable integrity and sportsmanship. With todays constant controversies of steroid abuse, domestic abuse, dog fighting and murder you would be hard pressed to find comparable heros of today. Here's a few pics of some true living legends.

Being embedded in Greg Norman's group gave me a chance to get out on the course and get a better view

The " Shark " crushes one off the fifth tee on a very beautiful and challenging course

Arnold Palmer thrilled the crowd at eighteen by chipping this shot about a foot from the pin for an easy tap in.

No one has done more for the sport of golf than Arnold Palmer and even with serious health problems he continues to give all he can to the sport

Jack Nicklaus is arguably the greatest golfer ever and even though Tiger will eventually own all his records and has taken golf to another level who can deny what Jack has accomplished

Jack even took time to sign some autographs for the fans

I was lucky to get my ticket signed by both Arnold palmer and Jack Nicklaus and I'm going to put it in a frame along with my favorite shots of them from that day. A treasured momento from the time I got to see two of golf's greatest
