PS It's the same with a few govt "jobs" - they can be paid lousy money and get involved in dangerous scenarios. Thinking of a few law-related, - some may have "reasonable" money, but still not worth it. Got US LE friends who have been shot, stabbed, raped - hell, can't remember all the violations, but they do take a toll over the years.
