I am having massive back problems for about 4-5 years now. No day without pain. I actually got some pain killers now but they make me fucking tired so I try to not use them very often.
my back is fucked, my L5 disc has completely disintegrated
I find that getting up from my chair every hour or two and stretching for 5 minutes can help work out tight muscles/stiffness in the back/hip area and keep things lubricated
Sitting in the same position for extended periods of time can seriously mess you up.

i got one of those chairs where you are forced to lean forward but it forces you to keep your back straight. otherwise, I go to a massage therapist every Fri for 1.5 hours.
