I have a ton of experience trading stock options so I wanted to give forex a try after talking with a friend about it.

The first thing I learned the hard way is currency trading is nothing like stock options trading. That said I am starting to *get* it.

well i was up 18k... i cashed out 17k earlier in the week... yesterday and today i lost 4k because i got margin called...

i still have a lot to learn about what factors (oil, financial, etc) trigger movement in forex...

i think fores is a great way to make money but you definately have to follow some simple rules, which i broke the last two days and paid pretty heavy for it..

going to spend the weekend studying and look forward to the market opening on sunday...

from what i have read so far, the euro is going to continue to decline at least through late monday or early tuesday...

GO SHORT!

Here's my perosnal experience in the "trading biz"... (longer one)
At the end of past year, I got a bit interested in that forex stuff...
So I've opened some test account with 50k of virtual cash...
I gave it a few shots... and started trading...
But had no bigger gains... maybe 10% in couple of days...
But with huge risks and few major losses...
Very fucked up and unpredictable thing...

The results were just to good to be true...

Few months later I've started trading in my country
at local stock exchange, and my results are really good!
I had more than 100% return in first 3 months...
The market here is quite different than it is in the US,
I can find company data more easily in my language,
I also know a lot of people so I'm getting a lot of inside informations
from some companies...
So far I never sold anything in "red"...

In the past couple of days I was buying more stocks,
hoping to make some good profits from them soon...

And since my porn sales dropped in past 2 months,
I'm turning a bit more to stock right now... for now...

I've toyed around with "play" money before but I've never gone for the real thing since funding and withdrawing $USD is like another layer - regardless of what I buy or sell via forex I'm also effectively trading USD/AUD because sooner or later I have to convert between USD and my local currency...
