Can anyone recommend any tools where I can throw together an adult blog? Basic building techniques and other advice would be helpful as well.

Sign up to sponsors and affiliates and update daily with a few photos promoting their models/sites. I'm sure U-Bob will be in here in a flash to give you some links to good affiliates.

use wordpress, if you don't have a host sign up with Dreamhost for $7 bucks a month or whatever, they have a 1 click install of wordpress blog and unlimited domains.
Make 1-4 posts a day in your blog. Google likes fresh content.
Install the free plugin called search meter and the free stats program statcounter. Read your logs everyday before posting to see what the surfers are looking for at your site and what they were looking for when they came from the search engines.
Then react and feed them content and text they want.
Also do a niche topic you really like and can stand looking at again and again.

I use dreamhost also, and I suggest you do a search for them to find a coupon code. Sometimes it makes the yearly subscription hella cheap.
