I grew up in a Hasidic Jewish neighborhood. I also have a Jewish brother-in-law. I know more about Jewish people then Jews themselves.
Here is an interesting thing to do:
Let a Hasidic Jew cross on a busy street as a pedestrian courtesy.
Most people will acknowledge the courtesy with a simple gesture of "thanks".
The Hasidic Jew will not give any acknowledgement of your courtesy.
Also, I hate when Jews talk about how much they make at their jobs in the city. Or how they only put on their Yamaka when they are going to deal with another ultra Jew.

You are correct in that jews are not supposed to do them but many these days ignore these. Ami from Miami Ink is also jewish and look at how many he has. It's just a think that is written down and jews are suppose to respect but not mandatory. Same goes for earings or things like that but it's very commonly ignored as well.
If someone does have a tattoo then they may have a problem to be buried in a jewish cemetery because of this issue.
The laws says they will be burried on the side of the cemetery and not with everyone else since the body was manipulated.

Whatever.. anyway, some of the nicest, friendliest people in this industry that I've collaborated with or worked with online have come from or live in Israel and thinking about all the Israeli people whom I've known in real life, not one of them was arrogant and every one of them I ever encountered was genuinely friendly.
As far as the debate goes about tattooing & the quote from leviticus 19, that verse is also in the baptist, catholic & whatever else bibles too, so guess all Jesus/God religions are sinners if they're tatooing themselves..
