I looked at the Arizona laws to see what the possibilities are... there are maximum fines (like $750 from what I read)... it's the severity of the charge that may make jail time a possibility.

The media in Phoenix will certainly throw anyone under the bus to get their story and they don't care who they fuck doing it.
Just like when they showed up at his front door with camera crew in tote wanting answers.
This sucks for him, that is for sure.
I am sure the fine for this may go higher depending on what they charge him with. And don't forget attorneys fees
