This one works on close calls. By law, if the first fractional inch of your front bumper is touching the first fractional inch of the limit line (that half line in front of crosswalks) when the light turns red, you are legally "in" the intersection and are allowed to continue.

That's not true at all, once the light is yellow it's illegal to enter an intersection. People can get charged with running lights whether they're yellow or red.
