:2cents What would you do? Need advise about a small car accident.

My brother got into a small fender bender. The accident might or might not be his fault. He was making a right turn when an opposing traffic started turning (left) and a girl managed to get into his lane, supposely cut him off and the right side of her rear bumper hit the left side of my brother's front bumper. So we have two young drivers, both blaming each other - no police report was filed. They have exchanged insurance and drivers license info.

I have a good friend who does fantastic body work, best I have seen, out of his house. I have offered to take care of the damage to her car just so we can forget this little incident. The bumper has a tiny little hole and scuff mark, can be repaired for close to nothing. Now the girl's dad took the car to some body shop and they quoted a new bumper, etc. for over $900 and the girl says she wants the new bumper which is not something I want to do. I was trying to resolve the problem on the down-low but now I am starting to feel taken advantage of. This is quite an unexpected turn of events.

So my question is: do I tell this girl nicely to go away and yield to traffic next time or do I actually pay?
