Muslims have it backwards

The whole point of islam not allowing pictures of its god , is so people dont worship images or objects but instead focus on the idea of a supreme being..

so in reality , the whole rule was there to prevent them from doing what they are doing now .. it has nothing to do with insults

true but even non-extremists seme to misundersstand the point of that rule.. its there to keepmuslimsfrom getting obsessed with an object and instead focus on the idea.. not to keep non muslims from displaying a picture

I agree with your points. Unfortunately all religions teach people not to think but to follow. People who are desperate to fill some kind of void in their life. Anyone with common sense would be very hard pressed to believe in something that can never be proven.

Do you honestly, I mean honestly, believe that this is all still about that stupid comic? The comic just gave them, in their minds, a reason... what they are doing, has nothing to do with that comic, has to do with years of pent up anger.

I'd be willing to be that most of the people protesting, or rioting, haven't even seen the comic.

sort of .. i believe "most" of them prob haven't seen the comic , and "most" of them also arent "extremists" , "most" of them are just people who feel insulted.. , i doubt "most" christians have read the bible , but will still feel insulted if they were all in a group and had a target .. ( i.e. porn )

I think in most civilian riots its usually like 25% extremists 50% offended average people , and 25% of people who didnt know what they got into

Now you are judging the religious people... I'm sorry but a lot of bible follower create their own faith.
